Walkowski attended tonight's meeting.
Eric Wanner was the Magician in Charge for this month's meeting,
and the topic for our meeting was invisible thread. Eric started by
levitating a borrowed dollar bill. He then followed up by doing Light
Flight, where he levitated an orange glowing ball which mysteriously
flew around the room. All this was just the beginning of a very
informative meeting.
Eric then began to discuss the principles of using invisible
thread, and its uses for more than just levitating. Someone asked him
if it could be used to rise a selected card from a card box.
Improvising at the spur of the moment, he did that precise effect.
Eric introduced Steve Simbeck who displayed the Dancing Cane
effect, where a walking cane floats around the magician. Steve then
exhibited different ITRs (Invisible Thread Reals) and explained the
advantage and disadvantages of each. He also made note that invisible
thread put off many magicians because they had a hard time extracting
the thread. Steve, and Eric then taught how to extract the invisible
thread easily and smoothly.
They then introduced Ron Seward who performed Acrobatic Matches,
where a matchbox flips over, and opens. Plus a match jumps out and
stands on top of the box. This rounded up the meeting. However, the
meeting was not complete without refreshments. Fortunately Chris
Kenney provided refreshments. Thank you, Chris.
